Straits International School Penang (SISP) is a British-style international school founded in 2012 and has been operating as a member of the ISP international school network since 2021. Building on the English National Curriculum and enhanced with the Cambridge format, the school boasts a 100% pass rate for IGCSE, with comprehensive multilingual education and EAL (English support). With over 130 extracurricular activities, specialized facilities for music, science, technology, and arts, a safe campus environment, and a careful student care system, the school supports not only academic achievement but also social development and personal growth.

Programs

Kindergarten

This is British-style early childhood education aligned with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) for ages 3-5, providing learning that nurtures natural curiosity through play. While centered on English, Malay and Chinese are also learned daily, developing children into confident multilingual learners. Through individual support from experienced specialist teachers and collaboration with parents, the school creates a caring educational environment tailored to each child’s interests and development.

Primary School

The Primary School (ages 5-11) is based on the British National Curriculum, with English, Math, and Science enhanced through the Cambridge method. Year 1-2 focuses on developing basic skills such as reading, writing, and grammar, while Year 3-6 fosters more advanced learning and independence. Regular assessments throughout the year (GL Assessment, Year 6 Cambridge Checkpoint, etc.) promote continuous learning progress.

Secondary School

The Secondary School (Year 7-11) is based on the British National Curriculum and Cambridge method, providing systematic learning centered on English, Math, and Science, with students aiming for IGCSE certification in Year 11. Multilingual education in English, Malay, and Chinese as well as EAL (English support) are also available.
Year 7-9 students learn a wide range of subjects including English, Math/Science, Humanities, Arts, ICT, and Physical Education, while Year 10-11 students deepen their interests through elective subjects. Beyond academics, diverse extracurricular activities also develop leadership and social skills.
