Fairview International School Johor Bahru is located in Bandar Dato’ Onn, Johor State, Malaysia, set in a peaceful environment surrounded by greenery. With good access from major roads, the location is convenient for commuting. Since opening in 2008 with 25 students, the school has grown to over 350 students and become one of the region’s leading international schools. The school is authorized for the International Baccalaureate (IB) PYP (Primary Years Programme) and MYP (Middle Years Programme), practicing education centered on inquiry-based learning that nurtures international perspectives and independence.

For ages 4-5, the school provides an environment that promotes inquiry-based learning in early childhood. With an emphasis on inquiry-based and experiential learning, children develop self-expression, collaboration, and the joy of discovery. In a small class and international environment, children can build foundations in language, numerical concepts, and social skills from an early age.

For ages 5-11, as an IB PYP authorized school, the curriculum develops not only grade-level subject knowledge but also “concepts, inquiry, and learning skills.” While English is the primary language, second languages such as Mandarin and Malay are also introduced, nurturing global perspectives in a diverse cultural and linguistic environment.

For ages 11-17 (secondary level), the IB MYP provides education incorporating cross-curricular project learning and community service. In addition to skills such as independent thinking, problem-solving, and collaboration, the school emphasizes building foundations for higher education and the next stage through inquiry-based learning and practical experiences.
